If you have completed our Learn To Sew Beginners course or have had previous experience creating you own sewn projects but want to develop your technical skills further, it's time for the next step. This fun 3 hour workshop is the perfect introduction into starting your garment making journey especially when using stretch materials. In class you will practise an array of techniques and produce the perfect everyday stretchy knickers just in time for Valentine’s Day!
You will be learning useful techniques like how to sew from simple patterns and how to use elastic for a fun and practical finish to your edges. Mastering these essential skills will give you the confidence to start more advanced sewing projects and will give you a good foundation to begin making up garments using commercial dressmaking patterns.
The pattern comes in sizes 6 - 20. Let us know your usual dress size in advance via email so we can make sure we have the right pattern ready for you to use.

THINGS TO REMEMBER
This pattern was designed to be a stash buster and is the perfect way to use your left over fabric scraps. If you have small pieces of jersey fabric with at least 20% stretch to it, those small pieces will be suitable for the Stevie Knickers. Woven, non stretch fabrics are not suitable.
We will have black and white knicker elastic with scalloped edge. If you want to bring your own colours then the total length you will need is 1.5m (just search picot edge elastic/ knicker elastic).
Feel free to get in touch before the class to discuss fabric choices. We also have a selection of fabrics and trims in the studio which you can purchase from us. If you would like to practice sewing on your own sewingmachine please feel free to bring it along.

This class is suitable for anyone who already knows how to thread up and use a sewing machine proficiently, has attended the Learn To Sew Beginners Course or has had experience creating a variety of sewn projects.
Sew Your Own Knickers
Once made, a booking cannot be transferred to an alternative date. If for any reason you are unable to attend please feel free to send a substitute. If you book a workshop for several days duration please make sure you can attend all days. Please check the dates carefully prior to booking.
