Give young creatives the perfect introduction to the world of sewing with this fun and confidence-building Sewing Machine 101 workshop, designed especially for ages 10–16.

 

In this friendly, supportive session, learners will discover how to use a sewing machine safely and successfully, building the essential skills they need to start sewing independently. With clear guidance and plenty of hands-on practice, they’ll learn the basics, try out key techniques, and leave with a beginner-friendly project they’ve made themselves.

 

What They’ll Learn

  • How to set up and operate a sewing machine

  • Safe sewing habits and good studio practice

  • How to sew straight lines, curves, and corners

  • How to control speed and guide fabric confidently

  • Basic troubleshooting and machine care

 

Make & Take Project

To put their new skills into action, each participant will complete a simple project to take home and show off proudly.

If you're bringing yours please be sure it's in working order and bring the foot pedal, power cord, needle, empty bobbin and manual. Ask us if you have any questions!

  • Once made, a booking cannot be transferred to an alternative date. If for any reason you are unable to attend please feel free to send a substitute. If you book a workshop for several days duration please make sure you can attend all days. Please check the dates carefully prior to booking.


    All workshops/courses must be paid for in full prior to the workshop start date. Payment can be made by PayPal or credit/debit card. By booking online you are acknowledging that you have read and accept the terms and conditions. Once a booking has been made, you will receive a confirmation email and information about any materials or equipment required.

     

    Cancellations by you:  Refunds will only be given under exceptional circumstances and will be considered on an individual basis.

     

    Cancellations by us: In the unlikely event that we have to cancel a workshop/course you will be given at least 24 hours notice and offered a transfer to another date or receive a full refund. We will not be held liable for any other costs or expenses that you may incur in the event of cancellation by us
