Do you struggle to get commercial patterns to fit your body properly? Are you constantly adjusting bust, waist, or shoulder areas and never quite getting it right? Would you love the confidence to draft a bodice pattern that fits you - not a generic size chart?
The solution is our Pattern Cutting | Bodice Masterclass
This in-depth masterclass is a comprehensive deep dive into drafting, fitting, and refining a custom-fit upper-body block. Designed for sewists ready to move beyond store-bought patterns, this course focuses on technical precision and iterative design, guiding you from measurements to a bespoke bodice block that truly fits.
You’ll learn how to translate your own body measurements into a professional front and back bodice sloper, understand how and why fit issues occur, and confidently refine your pattern through structured fitting stages. This is a hands-on, skills-led course that builds real independence in pattern cutting.
By the end of the course, you will be able to:
● Execute Precise Measurements: Capture accurate individual body measurements required for
custom-fit drafting.
● Draft a Foundational Block: Construct a professional-grade front and back bodice
block from scratch.
● Master Dart Manipulation: Apply the "slash-and-spread" technique to relocate darts for
both fit and aesthetic design.
● Apply Technical Markings: Correctly add grainlines, notches, and professional seam
allowances to a paper pattern.
