Are you of Black African or Caribbean Heritage and want to make a difference in your community whilst learning how to sew?
We are thrilled to have partnered with NHS Blood and Transplant (NHSBT) to offer sewing workshops to raise awareness about the importance of blood donations within the Black African & Caribbean community in Medway and the surrounding areas.
Join us for a special Community Sewing Class where you’ll learn how to use a sewing machine while creating meaningful items of comfort for people living with sickle cell disease who experience painful crises. As we sew, we’ll also explore the importance of giving blood and how it can make a life-changing difference in our community.
All of the projects we create will be donated to local hospitals and sickle cell organisations, helping to provide comfort and care to those who need it most.
Come along to this welcoming monthly class to learn a new skill, meet others, and give back at the same time.
Let's come together, create, and contribute to an important cause. We can't wait to see you there!
These events are suitable from age 17 and above.
