This relaxed, hands-on session focuses entirely on understanding your sewing machine and developing the essential skills needed before starting sewing projects. You'll learn how your machine works, how to set it up correctly, and have plenty of time to practise using it while receiving individual guidance and support.

* The different parts of a domestic sewing machine and what they do
* How to thread your machine correctly
* How to wind and insert a bobbin
* Choosing the correct needle and thread
* Adjusting basic machine settings
* Sewing straight lines, curves and corners
* Using reverse stitch and understanding stitch length
* Common sewing terminology
* Basic machine care and maintenance
* Simple troubleshooting tips for common sewing problems
By the end of the workshop, you'll feel more confident setting up and using your sewing machine, making it easier to progress onto beginner sewing classes and projects.
What to Bring
Please bring your sewing machine, along with:
* Power lead and foot pedal
* Instruction manual (if available)
* Any accessories or presser feet that came with your machine
If you don't have a sewing machine, don’t’ worry we will have machines available for you to use during the workshop.
